Steve Weiler

Coach, West - Senior High Performance

Steve Weiler is a Senior High Performance Coach with the Vancouver Thunderbirds (TBIR). Originally from Ontario before moving to Vancouver in 2021, Weiler coached for two decades in Ontario with success developing athletes across all Endurance running events.

Since 2021 he has helped Thunderbird athletes earn Canadian Championship medals and/or National Team selection in the 1500m, Mile, 3000m Steeplechase, 5000m, 10000m,10k XC and Marathon, with athletes representing Canada at the 2022 World Athletics Championships, 2023 Pan Am Games, 2024 World Cross Country Championships and 2026 World Cross Country Championships.

Steve Weiler is also the Lead Endurance coach for the UBC Cross Country and Track & Field teams. Under his leadership UBC has become one, if not the most successful U SPORTS Cross Country programs, while on the track he has coached UBC athletes to program, NAIA and records, and NAIA Championship podium finishes in every endurance running event.
