Thunderbirds Grade 12 Community Scholarship
Applications open to June 30, 2026
Supporting Athletes Who Strengthen Our Community
Thunderbirds Track & Field Club is pleased to once again offer scholarship opportunities to Thunderbirds Members graduating Grade 12 student-athletes who have gone above and beyond in contributing to our club community.
One or more scholarships valued at $500 each will be awarded.
These scholarships are intended to recognize athletes who have helped leave the Thunderbirds in a better place than when they joined by contributing positively to our culture, supporting teammates, and embodying our club values.
Scholarship Criteria
Applicants are asked to submit a short application outlining:
1. How you’ve contributed to the club’s culture and community by living one or more of our values:
Have Serious Fun
Trust the Process
Strain and Strive Together
Be Coachable and Curious
2. How you plan to stay connected to and support the Thunderbirds community beyond high school.
Contributions may include, but are not limited to:
Supporting and uplifting teammates
Assistant coaching
Mentoring younger athletes
Leading by example at practices and competitions
Volunteering at club events such as:
Manure Sale
Longest Day Road Race
Harry Jerome Track Classic
Gunner Shaw Memorial Meet
Application Guidelines
Length: 500–1000 words
Deadline: Monday, June 30, 2026 at midnight
Applicants must be enrolled in a post-secondary institution for Fall 2026
Varsity competition is not required
