Vancouver Thunderbirds is wrapping up its final day of FREE Spring Break Camps today, lead by Junior Development East Head Coach, Braeden Charlton.

This week between 9am-11am on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, Charlton and various other Thunderbird Track and Field coaches hosted over 50 athletes at Lord Byng High School in grades 3-7. Then, between 1pm-3pm out of Champlain Heights Elementary School, another 60 athletes (with numerous unfortunately left out on the sizeable wait-list) were given the same camp experience and coaching expertise. Vancouver Thunderbirds works hard to promote the importance of physical literacy and a “fit for life” mentality. The Club’s aim is to engage more interest in the sport of track and field at large, while also noting that the benefits of track and field are transferable across all sports.

BCIT Reporter, Riley Radiuk interviewed Chalrton live from Champlain Heights Elementary on Wednesday, capturing a great feel for Thunderbird’s Junior Development culture, and the camper’s overall experiences: Thunderbirds 2019 Free Track and Field Camp for Grades 3-7

The 2019 Track and Field outdoor season is right around the corner, and it is not too late to get your child/their school involved!
