Thunderbirds Open Season In Seattle

On January 18th, a small contingent of Thunderbirds headed down to Seattle, WA to open their indoor season.  The UW Preview at The Dempsey on University of Washington’s campus was a big meet this year.

Plenty of NCAA schools brought their “A” teams, so there was plenty of excitement on the track and in the field.

Andrew de Visser opened his season in Long Jump, with an opening jump of 6.53m and Emily Huser opened up her season in High Jump with a jump of 1.45m.

Danielle Douglas had a good start, just missing the 60sec barrier in the 400m and new club member, Andrea Abrams opened up in the 60mH with a 9.33s.

A larger group of athletes will open their indoor season at the upcoming Harry Jerome Indoor meet at the Richmond Oval on Feb. 1st, where they will look to take the Eaton Cup away from last year’s winners, Ocean Athletics.
