Thunderbird Grade 8/9’s heat up track at BC High Schools
In the Grade 8/9 age category, Gabriela Aquilini (York House) won the High Jump title with a jump of 1.55m. She came back the following day to finish 6th in the Long Jump with a leap of 4.86m. Calli Charlton (Lord Byng) had a fantastic weekend winning a silver and bronze. She captured silver in the 3000m with a time of 10:25.89 and a bronze in the 1500m in 4:47.05, both personal best times.
Quinn Litherland (St. Georges) ran two personal bests in the 400m in the heats (54.99) and the final (54.23). Quinn’s time gave him a 7th finish. Katherine Lucas (WPGA) sprinted to a personal best of 26.82 in the 200m to finish 7th. Kieran Lumb (Lord Byng) finished 8th in the 800m with a time of 2:07.39, a new personal best.
Finally, Madeline Pringle (Little Flower Academy) finished 6th in the gr. 8-9 800m with a personal best of 2:20.38 and Leiah Kirsh (Crofton House) finished 6th in the gr. 8-9 3000m with a personal best of 10:43.83
