Thunderbirds Continue to Roll in Cross-Country Season

The high school age Tbirds continue to impress in local high school meets and look to do well in the upcoming high school championships in Kelowna on November 5th. Trevor Knetchel has dominated these early meets. Christian Gravel has shown great early season form and looks set to more up one spot from his second place finish last year. Katrina Allison is also showing great form as she leads a deep group of Tbird girls that will represent their individual schools in Kelowna.

Vancouver held it's Elementary Cross-Country Meet on Thursday, October 20th, with a number of TBirds representing their schools and placing highly.

Most notable were Paul Fisher in winning the grade 6 boys' race and Marie-Loiuse Forsyth finishing 3rd in the grade 7 girls' race despite a neck problem. Willem Palaty was close to medalling and Oliver Jang ran well to finish 7th in a very competitive grade 7 boys' race. Welll done all who ran.

A number of Tbirds competed successfully at the Frank Reynolds' Memorial Meet in North Vancouver on a glorious sunny fall day (Oct 15th).

Congratulations again to Chloe who lead from the start to finish 1st in the 8 y/o race. Shaunika ran strong early on before fading to 8th in the 9 y/o race, but conytinues to improve. Marie-Louise had a great kick at the end to take 3rd in the 12y/o race, while Willem and Thomas finished 4th and 8th respectively. Kieran Lumb and Thomas Broatch dominated to finish 1,2 in the 13y/o race. Michael Mitchel finished 3rd in the 11y/o boys' race; running for Saints.
