UBC Track and Field Head Coach Laurier Primeau continues to add to his coaching staff. Today, Primeau announced that Mary Chewning will be re-joining the staff as a Power-Speed assistant coach, with specific responsibilities in the sprints and hurdles.
"Mary's coaching results are self-evident", remarked Primeau, "she has an incredibly renowned group of high school athletes, and part of our philosophy moving forward will be to engage community track and field organizations so that UBC becomes a natural destination for the city's, the province's, and the nation's best."
Coach Chewning commented, "Being chosen to help propel the UBC track and field program toward national and international distinction is an honour."
This marks the second coaching announcement in as many weeks for the UBC Cross Country and Track and Field program, following on the release last week that Chris Johnson had accepted the post as Endurance Lead.
Both coaches will remain in their current positions within the club.
