Thunderbirds Welcome New WAC Canada Athletes

The Vancouver Thunderbirds are pleased to announce the addition of Akeem Haynes and Christabel Nettey to our Club roster. 

Akeem is ranked 3rd in the world in 2015 in the 60 meters, 6.51, has a personal best of 10.23 in the 100, and 20.83 in the 200.  He was a member of the Canadian 4x100 team at the 2012 Summer Olympics, London.

Christabel was ranked 1st in the world indoors in the long jump with a Canadian record 6.99 and recently jumped a Canadian record 6.98m outdoors. She won the bronze at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, and has previously been a member of Canada’s World Championship team.

Both athletes are affiliated with the World Athletics Center, based in Phoenix, AZ, and join the Thunderbirds as the spring season begins to heat up.
