Twenty two TBirds competed at the Trevor Craven Meet at Swangard; the last meet before the provincial championships, and showed that they were rounding into form for the last meet of the season.
In the JD’s: Thomas Broatch who has made good progress during the season had PB’s in his three events: 300m, 1200m and long jump. Marie-Louise Forsyth scored a PB in the Javelin, winning with a throw of 23.31, and also finished first in the long jump, second in discus and third in the high jump. Deirdre Reynolds had a PB in both the 100m and Javelin. Shaunika Suriya had PB’s in the shot, 100m and 60m. Matthew Murphy had big PB’s in the shot and Javelin. Kieran Lumb had three PB’s in the 1200, 300 and long jump.
Of the older athletes, Matthew So had a big PB in the 400, finishing third in 52.01, Jacob Cutts finished second in the Javelin with a throw of 38.88m, and Emily Huser showed that she is ready for a PB in the High jump with another 1.50m performance for third place. Sajeda Win and Madison Wong both came close to PB with third place finishes in the 100 and 300m respectively, while Kapil Anand had a big PB in the 400m with a mark of 55.58. Amabel Stokes easily won the 200m in 25.77 and Tomo Newton ran well to finish second in the 800, narrowly missing a PB. Third places went to Andrew DeVisser in the 100mH and long jump and Kansas MacKenzie in the 400m.
