Lucas Bruchet

Competition distance: 1500m-10000m, Cross Country

Lucas is a local product having grown up in the lower mainland, and attending UBC for his post 

secondary career. Although he considered himself more of a middle-distance athletes in his 

early years at UBC, he has now moved on to the 5000m & 10000m events. The past few 

seasons Lucas has been ranked as one of Canada’s top athletes in the distances, and 

represented Canada at last summer’s Pan American Games. With the 2016 Olympic Games 

fast approaching Luc looks to book his ticket in the 5000m, with his personal best he is just over 

four seconds away.

Mile : 3:57.71 (indoor)

3000m: 7:51.56 (indoor)

5000m: 13:29.79

10000m: 28:36.74

Birthday: August 25th 1992

Hometown: White Rock/South Surrey B.C.

Competition: 800m, 400m

Adam is an 800m specialist born and bred in the Lower mainland. He began his running career as a 

400m runner attending Semiahmoo Secondary school. Adam progressed into an 800m runner, finding 

success by focusing on the speed aspect of the event. Adam is a new member of the Thunderbirds 

currently pursuing a mining engineering degree at UBC. With an 800m personal best 2 seconds shy of 

Olympic standard, Adam is looking to make his presence felt at this years’ Canadian championships.
