Elementary Cross Country Program
Coaches: Graeme Fell, Byron Jack
The Elementary program focuses on building the aerobic fitness to run for a sustained period time, mixing easy running with hills, sprints, fartlek and relays....fun and fitness; team participation is the focus. The competitive focus for the team is the BC JD Cross country Series While athletes are encouraged to participate in these races this is not mandatory and is suggested only for those ready to do so. Grade 8 athletes making the transition to the high school training groups are welcome to participate in this program until they are ready to move up to the older group.
Athletes are encouraged to attend 3 practices per week.
Training Schedue: Workouts begin Monday, August 26th.
- Monday - 5:00PM - Saints Senior
- Wednesday - 5:00PM - Saints Senior
- Thursday - 5:00PM - Saint's Senior
- Saturday (When not racing) - 10:00AM - Saint's Senior
Practices last approximately 90 minutes.
The following is the competition schedule for Cross Country Season - In order to place in the JD Series athletes must compete in at least 4 events.

Sep 28 - South Fraser Cross Country - Surrey
Oct 5 - Festival of Cross Country - South Surrey– 10:00am to 1pm
Oct 19 - Frank Reynolds Memorial - N. Vancouver
Oct 26 - BC Cross Country Championships - Aldergrove – 11:45 to 1:15pm
Nov 23 - Moustache Miler - 1mile or 3mile - Stanley Park
